Bentley von Schwartzwalde
Bentley von Schartzwalde is one of the most stunning and HUGE 2.5 year old black German Shepherds we've seen. Bentley lost his home when his owners fell on hard times. All the volunteers were surprised when they found out he 'only' weighed 98 pounds, he looks like he would be at least 120lbs - and he's not overweight at all. Bentley is a 'people dog' and absolutely loves people, kids and is good with other dogs. He met a family with kids at our adoption event and he had to kiss everyone over and over, including the kids. With his look you don't have to worry about walking down the street alone - he would scare many people just with his size and color - even though he's a sweetie. He spent the weekend with one of our volunteers who reports Bentley seems to be housebroken, is happy to hang out with his people and is a little too interested in cats. We're marking him 'no cats', but we feel he could learn to live with a cat IF the humans in his new family are willing to put in the time and the correct training to get him to accept the cat. Bentley would love to have an easy going canine companion in his new home, but probably would be annoyed by one that's constantly 'in his face'. He would also prefer a home where a human is home a lot. All in all he's an amazingly sweet huge teddy bear looking for a loving forever home. |
